The St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners recently provided correspondence to registered agents and designated representatives of three story and higher condominium and cooperative associations within the County. This correspondence serves to provide an overview of pending deadlines for completion of the Milestone Inspection, and further provides that it is reviewing whether to prescribe further timelines and penalties with respect to compliance with the legislation. A copy of that correspondence can be found here (“Updated Courtesy Condo Letter” PDF).
The County also provided information on how to register an account for affected associations, which would allow for notice to be provided by the County, data collection on affected associations, and allow for uploading of reports. A copy of that communication (with instructions) is found here (“Condo Association User Guide” PDF).
As noted in the communication, three story and higher condominium and cooperative associations are strongly encouraged to contact legal counsel to discuss the impact of existing legislation on their community in order to ensure compliance with applicable deadlines and reporting requirements.
