Sam is an associate at McCabe & Ronsman who practices in the area of community association law, representing associations and owners with general counsel matters, as well as handling both collections and complex litigation. Prior to joining McCabe & Ronsman, Sam previously worked at a Jacksonville firm representing community associations in both litigation and counsel, as well as representing businesses and individuals in complex commercial disputes. Sam was also an Assistant State Attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit (Duval County) where he prosecuted a wide range of crimes spanning from misdemeanor and DUI to first-degree violent felonies punishable by life in prison. Sam has appeared as lead counsel in numerous bench trials and has tried over a dozen jury trials to verdict.
Sam received his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law, graduating cum laude in 2017, placing on the Dean’s List during every semester and graduating near the top of his class. While in Law School, Sam was a Production Editor for the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Trust and Probate Law Journal, as well as externed with a Federal Judge. Sam was awarded with Sherod H. Eadon Scholarship while in law school and was inducted into the Order of the Wig and Robe.
Sam is active in the Jacksonville Bar Association and is an Associate Member of the Chester Bedell Inn of Court. Sam is also a member of the Community Association Institute, Northeast Florida Chapter, where he has previously been published in their publications. In his free time Sam enjoys exercising, hanging out at the beach, playing sports, eating a good meal, watching his Baltimore Ravens, Baltimore Orioles, and Maryland Terrapins, as well as spending time with his family, friends and his golden retriever, Bella.
